The Insight
"Trade push works fastest when the consumer has already done the asking. The question is how you engineer that — before you walk into the mandi."
The Situation

Distribution was not the problem.
Pull was.

The brand held genuine category leadership in one of India's most competitive soya chunks markets. Distributor reach was adequate. Trade margins were in place. But at the outlet level, the shelf was softening — retailers were less engaged, reorders were slowing, and competitive alternatives were gaining presence in the same footprint.

The challenge was not logistics or pricing. It was the absence of consumer pull that makes a retailer an active advocate rather than a passive stockist. Without that pull, no trade scheme holds for long.

The Approach

Build pull first.
Let the trade pitch follow.

COMCRAFT designed a three-pronged programme — consumer activation, trade engagement, and permanent visibility — structured so that each stream created the conditions that made the next one more effective. The sequence was not incidental. It was the strategy.

Consumer-facing activation ran first and ran long. By the time trade engagement began at the wholesale level, the market had already been prepared. Retailers arriving at the district mandi were not being introduced to the brand — they were already hearing about it from their own customers. That changed the nature of every conversation at the counter.

Permanent visibility was deployed to bridge the distance between activation and daily life — ensuring the brand remained present in the landscape the consumer lives in, long after the programme concluded.

Permanent Visibility

The brand built into the landscape.

Visibility infrastructure placed where the consumer already looks — on the roads she takes, in the market she walks through, at the outlet she shops at. Three formats, route-mapped to the exact activation geography.
